Quick answer

Is there a betting app for my iPhone?

If the bookmaker has an iOS app, you install it from the App Store like any other app, and it updates by itself. If the app does not appear in your store, or the site has none, open the bookmaker’s website in Safari and add it to your Home Screen: you get the same odds, markets and cashier without installing anything.

What matters

What to check on an iPhone betting app

The App Store handles safety and updates. The rest is down to the bookmaker.

  • Is it in your App Store?

An app can be listed in some countries’ stores and not in others. Search for the bookmaker by name; if it is missing, use the mobile site.

  • iOS version

The App Store page shows the iOS version the app needs. An older iPhone that cannot update may be left with the mobile site.

  • Face ID and login

Where an app offers Face ID or Touch ID login, it is quicker and safer than typing a password in public.

  • Notifications

Alerts for settled bets are useful; promotional pushes are a nudge to bet. You can switch them off in Settings.

iPhone betting apps and the App Store

On an iPhone there is one normal way to install an app: the App Store. Search for the bookmaker by name, check that the developer shown is the bookmaker itself, and tap Get. The store has checked the app, it installs without any change to your settings, and updates arrive automatically. That makes the iPhone side simpler than Android, where the app usually comes as a file from the bookmaker’s site; the Android betting apps list covers that route.

The catch is availability. A betting app can be listed in one country’s App Store and missing from another’s, and the store you see follows the country of your Apple ID. If a search for the bookmaker finds nothing, or only apps from developers you do not recognise, do not install a look-alike.

No app in your store? Use Safari

Every bookmaker’s mobile site runs in Safari with the same odds, markets, bet slip and cashier as its app. To make it behave like one, add it to your Home Screen.

  1. Open the bookmaker’s website in Safari.
  2. Tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Choose Add to Home Screen and confirm the name.
  4. Open the site from the new icon and log in.

You give up Face ID login, and you gain a route that needs no storage and never needs updating. For placing a bet, depositing by transfer or wallet, and withdrawing, nothing is missing.

Profiles and ‘trust this developer’: what to avoid

Some websites offer an iPhone app outside the App Store. The download asks you to install a configuration profile and then to trust a developer under Settings, General, VPN and Device Management. An app that arrives this way has skipped App Store review, can be switched off at any time, and gives the installer more reach into your phone than an ordinary app has.

If a link asks you to install a profile

Close it. Reach the bookmaker by typing its address, and use the App Store app or the mobile site. A profile sent by a ‘support agent’ or an ‘account manager’ in a chat is a scam.

The same caution applies to changing the country of your Apple ID to reach an app. It affects your payment method, your subscriptions and your other apps, for a result the mobile site gives you in a minute.

iOS version, Face ID and notifications

The App Store page of an app states the iOS version it needs. If your iPhone can no longer update to it, the store will not offer the app, and the mobile site becomes your app. Where a betting app supports Face ID or Touch ID, switch it on: it is quicker than a password and harder for someone looking over your shoulder to copy.

Notifications deserve a minute in Settings. Alerts that a bet has settled or a withdrawal has been paid are useful. Promotional pushes on a Saturday afternoon are designed to make you open the app, so turn those off if you would rather decide for yourself when to bet.

Choosing a bookmaker when you bet on an iPhone

An iOS app is a convenience, not a reason to choose a site. Start with odds, payout time and the way you pay, all of which are scored in the table of betting sites for Nigerian punters. Then look at the mobile score and the columns on this page. If you watch matches on your phone, the live streaming list shows which sportsbooks stream, and video is where your data goes.

A phone that is always in your hand makes betting easy to overdo. Set a deposit limit in your account before your first bet, and remember that you must be 18 or over.

FAQ

iPhone betting apps: questions and answers

Short answers. The list and the table on this page hold the figures for each site.

Which betting apps for iPhone are available in Nigeria?

The bookmakers in the list on this page: an iOS app is marked for each site from what the operator states. Install it from the App Store, under the bookmaker’s own name.

Why can I not find the betting app in the App Store?

An app can be offered in some countries’ App Stores and not in others, and a bookmaker may have no iOS app at all. In both cases the mobile site in Safari gives you the same account, odds and cashier.

Can I install a betting app on iPhone without the App Store?

Some sites offer a download that asks you to install a profile and trust a developer in Settings. An app installed that way has not been through App Store review and can stop working without warning. The mobile site in Safari is the safer route.

How do I add a betting site to my iPhone Home Screen?

Open the site in Safari, tap the Share button and choose Add to Home Screen. An icon appears next to your apps and opens the mobile site in one tap.

Should I change my Apple ID country to download a betting app?

It is not worth it. Changing the country of an Apple ID affects your payment method, subscriptions and other apps. Use the mobile site instead.

Do iPhone betting apps work on an iPad?

Usually yes: an iPhone app runs on an iPad, and the mobile or desktop site works in Safari on a larger screen. The odds and your account are the same on every device.

18 and over only

Betting is for adults aged 18 and over. Set a deposit limit before your first bet, never chase a loss, and bet only what you can afford to lose. Responsible gambling: tools and support

How this list is put together

This list is built from the same data as the Betbook Table. A site appears only when that data shows it qualifies; a site Betbook has no figure for is left out. Betbook earns commission from the betting sites it lists. That affects which sites are covered and can affect where they appear in the table. Scores are Betbook’s editorial assessment against the published criteria.

Details to check on the operator’s site

  • Welcome offer and its terms, in the operator’s currency
  • Minimum deposit and payment methods, naira and crypto
  • Payout time stated by the operator
  • Products, apps and the licence the site names
